Missing out on Art Basel 2014 was quite disappointing, however, before the year ends I made it my business to get inspired in the Wynwood Art District in Midtown Miami. Stepping away from my preferred casual look I've been switching it up as of lately -- a minimal look with some rare sneakers can take any street style to the next level.
Since most of social media and pop culture agrees that "all white" is quite GODLY I decided to stray away from the usual angelic attire and throw in a pastel yellow to offset it - a great alternative when you still want to pull off a light look without being typical. Patent leather sneakers are very distinctive due their high gloss and shiny finish, now here me out, I have had my fair share of Air Jordan 11s but I've kept them out of my wardrobe for good reason. These high top snakeskin Vans were snagged at Nordstrom on the sale rack for a mere $40 - a true steal!
Sleeveless sweatshirts are great for those 70-75 degree days when it's breezy. Ripped jeans always symbolize rebellion. When it comes to street style I believe it's all about getting away from the traditional "rules", who cares about not wearing white after Labor Day? Technically, after Labor Day is 365 days before the next labor day, right?
Never be timid to step outside your comfort zone. Thinking outside of the box is a choice, but perhaps removing the box completely may be the best option. Style is what you make it!
