MY HBCU Changed My Life

My unparalleled undergraduate experience can only be credited to an institution that has stood since 1887 - Florida A & M University. For those who don't know, HBCU stands for "Historically Black College and University". Made exclusively for African Americans during a time when we had no other choice but to create our own education institutions in a society that prohibited People of Color from integrating Predominately White Institutions (PWIs).

Attending an HBCU changed my life. FAMU didn't only prepare me for the world but it taught me so many lessons and experiences that I will value forever. I learned how to make something out of nothing; the environment that it provided for me cultivated my craft and pushed me to be a better man.

From starting my own business Montruh Visuals & Threads (@Montruh) , to joining a lifelong brotherhood - The Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. I am extremely grateful for all the individuals who I crossed paths with that motivated me to get where I am today, and for my university for creating the greatest atmosphere that a young African American can flourish in.  Impact. Improve. Imprint.
